The Ferrari Testarossa presented here at Hofmann’s was first registered in Germany on the 4th August 1989 and spent the next 28 years there. During it’s time it was regularly serviced with stamps and invoice’s to back this up. In 2017 it found it’s way to the UK and it was instantly treated to a major cambelt service, new clutch and flywheel costing in excess of £4,000. It then had another service in May 2019 at QV London which included cleaning of the fuel heads, clutch and flywheel re-balance and new brake hoses costing £3,951.
Finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero hide and carpets this extremely well cared for example has covered a mere 59,715km from new which is completely standard besides a Tubi exhaust. This example includes original manuals, stamped service book, leather wallet, 2 keys and all important jack and tool kit.
The Ferrari Testarossa, which means red head in Italian, premiered at the Paris motor show in 1984 and had a very successful life until it was replaced in 1991. Powered by a 4.9l longitudinally mounted V12. The engine has a DOHC 4 valves per cylinder (48 valves in total) and is lubricated via a dry sump system. This together provides a healthy 385bhp
Jack Nerad of Driving Today states, the Testarossa “… [Was] a car designed and built to cash in on an image. And since cashing in was what the Eighties were all about, it was the perfect vehicle for its time. The saving grace was, it was also a damn good automobile.
